Which is why replacing the starchy buns with fresh, iceberg lettuce is an excellent DIY solution. 


All you’ll need is:

  • 1 large head of iceberg lettuce
  • 4 slices bacon
  • 1 red onion, sliced
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • Kosher salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • 4 slices cheddar
  • 1 tomato, sliced
  • Ranch dressing, for serving

Once you’ve got your ingredients ready, begin by slicing 8 large rounds from the edges of the head of iceberg lettuce to create buns.

Then, cook the bacon until crispy in a large skillet over medium heat. Transfer the bacon to a paper towel-lined plate to drain, leaving the bacon fat in the pan.

Add your onion slices to the skillet and cook until they’re tender, roughly 3 minutes per side. Remove the onions and wipe the skillet clean. 

Reheat the skillet with medium-high heat, and after shaping your ground beef into 4 large burger patties and seasoning both sides with salt and pepper, throw them in the pan.

Sear them all on both sides and cook to your preferred level. Toss a slice of cheese on each burger, and melt by putting the lid on the skillet for about 1 minute. 

After removing the burgers from the pan, place your cooked burger on an iceberg round, and add a bacon slice, tomato slice, and ranch dressing. Then complete the sandwich with your top iceberg round.

Start Your Day with These Scrumptious Bell Pepper Eggs

You’ll need:

  • 1 bell pepper, sliced into 1/4″ rings
  • 6 eggs
  • Kosher salt
  • Freshly ground black peppers
  • 2 tbsp. chopped chives
  • 2 tbsp. chopped parsley

Begin by lightly greasing your pan after getting it to a medium heat. Place a bell pepper ring in the skillet and sauté it for two minutes. Flip the ring to the other side and crack an egg in the middle. 

Throw some salt and pepper on top and allow the egg to cook 2-4 minutes, depending on your preferred runniness. 

Complete with a garnish of chives and parsley for that final touch of deliciousness, and repeat the process on your remaining eggs.
